A New Fantasy Novel by Heather Hopkins

This website will be a place to write and to give updates, teasers, bonus chapters, and bonus content for my debut novel, The Path of Root and Remedy. It’s a cozy epic fantasy / coming-of-age story about a half-elf, half-human girl finding her place in the world and coming into her own power.

Synopsis:
In the quiet village of Edgewood, Elara Ashbluff lives a peaceful life tending to her apothecary shop. Her days are filled with drying herbs, healing remedies, and the comfort of routine. But Elara carries a secret even she does not fully understand. Born of a human mother and an elven father she barely remembers, she feels the pull of something ancient just beyond the garden fence, where the forest waits and watches.

When a mysterious illness begins to spread through the village, resisting every known cure, Elara must leave the safety of her home and seek answers in the wilds beyond. Guided by forgotten songs, strange dreams, and a clever fae fox named Louan, her journey leads her deep into the heart of the forest and into the truth of her own identity.

To save her village, Elara must uncover the cause of the sickness and confront the wounds left by generations of harm to the land. Along the way, she discovers friendship, courage, and a new sense of belonging.

The Path of Root and Remedy is a gentle but powerful tale about healing, nature, and the quiet strength that grows when we reconnect with our roots.
